Correct genuine spelling errors identified by the codespell 2.4.x
full scan after the KTD container OS upgrade. Changes are in
comments, POD, strings, and template text across 55 files.
"SAN Ouest Provence" (the French library co-operative and Koha
sponsor) is preserved as a proper noun. Perl copyright lines
receive an inline # codespell:ignore annotation; about.tt files
(contributor attribution pages) are added to the Koha::Devel::Files
codespell exception list so that future uses of "Provence" as a
typo for "Province" are still caught in all other files.
Notable user-visible fixes:
- "submiting" -> "submitting" in authority and bibliographic merge screens
- "deleteable" -> "deletable" in patron exception messages
- "Acquistions" -> "Acquisitions" in reports dictionary
Test plan:
1. Apply patches
2. In the staff interface, go to Cataloguing > Merge records and
confirm the submit button reads "Submitting" (not "Submiting")
3. In the staff interface, go to Authorities > Merge and confirm
the same correction
4. Attempt to delete a patron with outstanding issues and confirm
the error message reads "deletable" (not "deleteable")
5. prove xt/author/codespell.t

This patch moves a couple of "onclick" event attributes from the
bibliographic record merge template, moving the event handling to the JS
block.
This patch also makes a minor change to make sure that the
framework code dropdown preselects the framework of the first of
the records to merge. This brings it in line with the authority
merge template.
To test, apply the patch and perform a catalog search which will return
multiple results including results with different frameworks. In the
standard test data a search for "green" will return two results with two
different frameworks.
- Check the checkbox for at least two records in your search results.
- Click "Edit -> Merge records" in the toolbar at the top of the
results.
- On the "Merging records" page you should see a frameowrk dropdown. It
should have preselected the framework corresponding to the first of
the records you selected.
- When you click the radio buttons next to your records to merge the
framework selection should change to match your selection..

comparison.
Both columns had ids added by the patch for formatting purposes.
To test:
1. Go to cataloging module
2. Do a search (in sandboxes/ktd 1 works)
3. Select 2 or more records to merge
4. Click the "merge selected" button
5. Observe there are 2 columns on top of each other instead of side by
side
6. Apply the patch
7. Restart all & rebuild css
8. Repeat steps 1-4
9. Observe the columns are side by side again.

For templates which use the intranet-bottom include file, the markup in
that template lacks the main container's closing </div>, expecting it to
be closed in intranet-bottom.inc.
This patch moves that closing </div> into each template. This is
intended to make it clearer to anyone trying to maintain the correct
structure of the page and hopefully to make it possible to automatically
tidy template files.

This patch adds "[% USE Koha %]" to templates which lack it. Without
this, the "Last patron" menu item doesn't work and will cause a JS error
on many pages. The patch also removes some USE entries which were
duplicates.
To test, apply the patch and test all 176 different pages to confirm
they all work correctly. I mean, maybe. Or maybe sample a few to confirm
they work?
- Go to Administration -> System preferences and enable "showLastPatron"
- If the preference was not enabled, you probably need to go to
Circulation and open a patron account for checkout so that there is a
"last patron" to show.
- Test a sampling of pages affected by this patch:
- Acquisitions -> Acquisitions home page
- Administration -> Cities and towns
- Catalog -> Item search
- Cataloging -> Label creator
- Patrons -> Patron account -> Set permissions
- Reports -> Items lost
- Serials -> Serials home page
- Tools -> Calendar
- Pages which had duplicate lines (not necessarily "USE Koha"):
- Acquisitions -> Vendor -> Receive shipments
- Administration -> Manage jobs
- Administration -> Record overlay rules
- Catalog -> Search results
- Catalog -> Bibliographic detail page -> Items
- Circulation -> Holds queue
- Patrons -> Patron detail page -> Accounting -> Transactions tab
- Serials -> Subscription details -> Create/edit routing list

This patch updates the OPAC and staff interface to use Bootstrap 5.
Bootstrap CSS assets are now pulled from node_modules and compiled into
staff-global.css and opac.css at build time. This update lays the
foundations of some other chnages, especially the addition of a dark
mode in the future.
Hundreds of templates have been updated, mostly with updates to the grid
markup. Most of the responsive behavior is still the same with the
exception of improved flexibility of headers and footers in both the
OPAC and staff interface.
The other most common change is to add a new "namespace" to data
attributes used by Bootstrap, e.g. "data-bs-target" or "data-bs-toggle".
Modal markup has also been updated everywhere. Other common changes:
dropdown button markup, alert markup (we now use Bootstrap's "alert
alert-warning" and "alert alert-info" instead of our old "dialog alert"
and "dialog info").
Bootstrap 5 now uses CSS variables which we can override in our own
'_variables.scss' (in both the OPAC and staff) to accomplish a lot of
the style overrides which we previously put in staff-global.scss.

pages have the correct title tags:
- Cataloging home page
- Catalog concerns
- Cataloging search results
- Select two results ->
- Merge selected
- Basic MARC editor (Add, edit)
- Replace via Z39.50
- Advanced MARC editor
- Item editor
- Bibliographic detail page ->

- Attach item
- Edit ->
- Link to host record (with EasyAnalytics enabled)
- Authorities -> New from Z39.50/SRU

This patch eliminates the use of a separate include file containing
translatable strings in favor of embedding translatable strings in the
JavaScript itself.
To test, apply the patch and clear your browser cache if necessary.
- Perform a catalog search in the staff interface.
- Select two results to merge. Click Edit -> Merge records.
- Click "Next" on the "Merging records" page.
- On the "Source records" page click the second tab where all the
checkboxes are unchecked.
- Check the box for a tag which is non-repeatable, e.g. 245.
- You should see a message, "The field is non-repeatable and
already exists in the destination record. Therefore, you cannot add it."
- Check the box for a subfield which is non-repeatable, e.g. 245$a.
- You should see a message, "The subfield is non-repeatable and
already exists in the destination record. Therefore, you cannot
add it."
TESTING TRANSLATABILITY
- Update a translation, e.g. fr-FR:
> cd misc/translator
> perl translate update fr-FR
- Open the corresponding .po file for JavaScript strings, e.g.
misc/translator/po/fr-FR-messages-js.po
- Locate strings pulled from prog/js/merge-record.js for
translation, e.g.:
#: koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/js/merge-record.js:72
msgctxt "Bibliographic record"
msgid ""
"The field is non-repeatable and already exists in the destination
record. "
"Therefore, you cannot add it."
msgstr ""
- Edit the "msgstr" string however you want (it's just for testing).
- Install the updated translation:
> perl translate install fr-FR
- Switch to your newly translated language in the staff client and
repeat the test plan above. The translated string should appear.

Why? Because we must filter the variables when we display them.
If we escape them on assignement, they will be double escaped:
[% XXX = "<span>pouet</span>" | html %]
[% XXX | html %]
=> <span>pouet</span>
Also it will bring trouble if we are assigning a structure (see bug

Here we go, next step then.
As we did not fix the performance issue when autofiltering
the variables (see bug 20975), the only solution we have is to add the
filters explicitely.
This patch has been autogenerated (using add_html_filters.pl, see next
pathces) and add the html filter to all the variables displayed in the
template.
Exceptions are made (using the new 'raw' TT filter) to the variable we
already listed in the previous versions of this patch.
To test:
- Use t/db_dependent/Koha/Patrons.t to populate your DB with autogenerated
data which contain <script> tags
- Remove them from borrower_debarments.comments (there are allowed here)
update borrower_debarments set comment="html tags possible here";
- From the interface hit page and try to catch alert box.
If you find one it means you find a possible XSS.
To know where it comes from:
* note the exact URL where you found it
* note the alert box content
* Dump your DB and search for the string in the dump to identify its
location (for instance table.field)
Next:
* Ideally we would like to use the raw filter when it is not necessary
to HTML escape the variables (in big loop for instance)
* Provide a QA script to catch missing filters (we want html, uri, url
or raw, certainly others that I am forgetting now)
* Replace the html filters with uri when needed (!)

Having to write [% KOHA_VERSION %] for each url is bad because:
- It's easily forgettable when adding new <script> or <link>
- It prevents grep'ing for the full filename
- It violates the DRY principle
- If at some point we want to change the "force js and css reload"
mechanism, it will be tedious
This patch:
- adds a Template::Toolkit plugin that generates <script> and
<link> tags for JS and CSS files, and inserts automatically the Koha
version in the filename
- use the new plugin to remove all occurences of [% KOHA_VERSION %]
- remove the code that was adding KOHA_VERSION as a template variable
Test plan:
1. Apply patch
2. Go to several different pages in Koha (opac and intranet) while
checking your browser's dev tools (there should be no 404 for JS and
CSS files, and the Koha version should appear in filenames) and the
server logs (there should be no "File not found")
3. `git grep KOHA_VERSION` should return nothing
4. prove t/db_dependent/Koha/Template/Plugin/Asset.t

Confirm that I have not missed any places where there is 'loading-small.gif'
Have amended patch to not include OPAC changes from previous patch.

C4::Koha::getframeworks returned a hashref of biblio frameworks.
It was mainly used to generate the dropdown list of frameworks.
The scripts modified in this patch did not necessary order the element
by description (frameworktext), the displays were not consistent from
one screen to another.
Using the same search method everywhere:
Koha::BiblioFrameworks->search({}, { order_by => ['frameworktext'] });
We will know always get the framework in the same order.
Test plan:
Following the different pages modified by this patch, and make sure the
frameworks are displayed correctly in the dropdown list:
1/ acqui/z3950_search.pl - Create an order from an external source.
2/ admin/fieldmapping.pl - Define some mappings keyword / MARC field
3/ admin/marctagstructure.pl - On the MARC frameworks admin page, select
another framework than the default one and click on the 'Search' button
4/ catalogue/MARCdetail.pl - On the MARC defail page, change the
framework you want to use to display the record
5/ cataloguing/addbiblio.pl - Add or edit a biblio record, change its
framework. When editing, the framework of the record should be selected
by default
6/ cataloguing/addbooks.pl - Go on the cataloguing home page and click
on the "New record" button. You should see all the frameworks
7/ cataloguing/merge.pl - Select 2 biblio records to merge. On the first
step (select the merge reference), you should be allowed to select the
framework to use.
8/ tools/inventory.pl - On the inventory page, the "Item statuses" part
should be populated as before this patch
9/ tools/manage-marc-import.pl - Stage records for import. Before
importing them into the catalog, you should see the framework dropdown
list.

This patch moves the JavaScript files in prog/en/js to prog/js.
JavaScript files do not need to be in the directory which is processed
by the translator.
To test, apply the patch and visit various pages in the staff client to
confirm that JavaScript files are still loading correctly.
Revised: I intended for this to be built on top of Bug 15883 as well as
Bug 16242. Now it is.

On top of 15883 and 16241
All seems to work, js files pulled from new dir.

According to https://jquery.com/upgrade-guide/1.9/#attr-versus-prop-
.attr() is no longer correct to access the checked state of a checkbox.
This patch do the following replacements:
.attr('checked') => .prop('checked')
.attr('checked, '') => .prop('checked', false)
.attr('checked, 'checked') => .prop('checked', true)
.attr('checked', boolValue) => .prop('checked', boolValue)
.removeAttr('checked') => .prop('checked', false)
.attr('checked') == 'checked' => .is(':checked')

To recreate:
1) Select two biblios to merge
2) Merge them
3) Sucess reported but list of bibs contains only the reference record.
4) View the 'new' record, it won't have any additional items
5) View the 'merged' record, it is still there with its items
This happens because record IDs (biblionumbers) are not correctly
set up in the template on the 2nd merge stage, since Bug 15358.
To test:
1) apply patch
2) try to recreate this issue once again, confirm that a problem
is resolved
