While this won't prevent the deadlock, it should catch the case where
a deadlock causes the DB update to fail and provide feedback to the user
and rollback the transaction
I don't know how to trigger the deadlock, I can only confirm that we see it, and
that this should catch it.
To test:
1 - Apply patches
2 - Checkout several items to a patron
3 - Confirm that 'Renew all' feature continues to work as expected and all items are renewed

Bug 26457: (QA follow-up) Switch to PK index in UPDATE on issues
The deadlock reports tell us that multiple transactions are
waiting for a X lock on a record but using a secondary index
on borrowernumber and itemnumber. Since we have the issue_id
at hand already, we should use that and benefit from the clustered
index (on PK) instead of using a secondary index.

Bug 19014 altered CanBookBeRenewed to return (auto_)too_soon over on_reserve
For cron purposes this is the correct behaviour.
For display purposes we wish to see on_reserve over too_soon
This patchset adds a switch to 'CanBookBeRenewed' to alter the priority of these statuses
To test:
1 - set NoRenewalBeforePrecision to date only
2 - set a circ rule to auto-renewal=yes, no renewal before=0, checkout period to 7 days
3 - check item out
4 - confirm item shows Scheduled For Automatic Renewal in issues table
5 - place a hold on the item for another patron
6 - reload issues table for patron 1, confirm checkout still shows "scheduled for automatic renewal" rather than "on hold"
7 - change No Renewal Before value to 7
8 - reload issues table for patron 1, confirm checkout now shows "on hold"
9 - Apply patch
10 - restart_all
11 - Reload the issues table - confirm 'on_hold' still shows
12 - Change No Renewal Before to 0
13 - Refresh issues table, still shows 'On hold'
14 - perl misc/cronjobs/automatic_renewals.pl -v
15 - Result shows 'auto_too_soon'
16 - prove -v t/db_dependent/Circulation.t

This patch makes the calculation of suspension expiration configuration
detached from the finesCalendar syspref. This way libraries have more
flexibility when setting circ rules.
I wrote this path as a bugfix, because the recent change pushed by bug 19204
changed this behavior and libraries have been complaining since they got
upgraded.
It is a minor change, just adding the new syspref, and replacing the
single place in which it is used for debarment calculation for the new
one.
The tests are updated similarly, just adding the new mocked syspref as
it was with the old one.
To test:
- Apply this patches
- updatedatabase
- Run:
$ kshell
k$ prove t/db_dependent/Circulation.t
=> SUCCESS: Tests pass!

Koha::Calendar assumes we never issue an item on a closed day.. this is
a fair assumption but the hardcoded closed day in our tests means it
does not hold true in this case.
This patch sets the closed day dynamically to prevent such a case.

which had a FIXME, but was in fact just a duplicate of the test directly
above it. I beleive it became a duplicate after the subroutine signature
changed at some point recently. I also move the bug 22877 specific test
into a subtest.

After bug 21213 we wanted to know why Circulation.t was failing randomly on a given test.
Since it is pushed, it failed (at least) twice, with the same error:
# Failed test 'AddReturn must have debarred the patron'
# at t/db_dependent/Circulation.t line 3112.
# got: ''
# expected: '1'
# AddReturn returned message $VAR1 = {
# 'WasReturned' => 1
# };
# Failed test 'Test at line 1918'
# at t/db_dependent/Circulation.t line 3116.
# got: '0'
# expected: '1'
# Failed test 'Test at line 1918'
# at t/db_dependent/Circulation.t line 3119.
# got: undef
# expected: '2019-05-30'
# Looks like you failed 3 tests of 21.
The test at line 3113 expects the flags 'WasReturned' and 'Debarred' to be set,
but only WasReturned is.
Which means the patron has not been debarred. It is not because the checkout has
not been detected as overdue.
If you apply only the first patch you will see that the tests are failing with
the exact same failures.
Indeed, if due_date is not passed to test_debarment_on_checkout, it is set to now (dt_from_string).
However, if the call and the test of the parameters inside the subroutine takes
more than 1 second,
then due_date will be after what we really expect. To reproduce that, we add
1 minute to due_date and we observe the tests failing.
The trick here (and we should have in all our tests) is to mock
DateTime->now to make sure dt_from_string will always return the same
value, it is what we expect from our tests (in 99.9% of the cases at
least).
