Bug 40901: (QA follow-up) Make koha-disable/koha-enable symmetric and fix koha-remove/koha-create
koha-disable had gained "koha-sip --disable" and an unconditional
"koha-plack --disable". On both backends those are not just systemd
bookkeeping: on SysV the former deletes the sip.enabled flag and the
latter comments the Plack includes out of the Apache vhost (which
koha-disable then restarts Apache to apply). koha-enable was unchanged,
so "koha-disable x && koha-enable x" left the instance on CGI with SIP
off. Go back to stopping the daemons only (the new Plack and ES indexer
stops are kept), and under systemd stop and disable the per-instance
koha@<inst>.target so the instance stays down across reboots while the
individual units keep their enablement. koha-enable re-enables and
starts that target, so an enabled instance comes back exactly as it
was.

koha-remove nested every --disable inside "if is_*_running", so a unit
that was enabled but stopped kept its symlink in
koha@<inst>.target.wants/ after the instance was gone, which is the
very thing the block below it says it prevents. Disable unconditionally.

koha-create aborted after the database and vhost existed if a
systemd-only --enable failed, because the helpers run under set -e;
guard them like the systemctl calls already were. It also only started
koha.target, which is a no-op when the target is already active, so
the new instance's units were not started; start koha@<name>.target
itself.

Bug 40901: (QA follow-up) Fix koha-disable --disable idempotency under set -e
koha-plack, koha-zebra, koha-indexer and koha-es-indexer all return
exit code 1 when asked to disable a service that is already disabled.
koha-disable has set -e, so this propagated as a fatal error when
koha-create called koha-disable on a freshly-created instance (where
none of the per-service configs are enabled yet).

Apply the same || true guard that koha-worker already had to the four
unconditional --disable calls. The desired postcondition (service
disabled) is achieved either way; the exit code from the sub-script
is not meaningful here.

Bug 40901: (QA follow-up) koha-disable must disable units even when stopped
On systemd, koha-disable gated both --stop and --disable behind
is_*_running checks (systemctl is-active). A service that was enabled
but not currently active (e.g. stopped for maintenance) was therefore
never disabled, leaving its unit enabled and able to restart on the next
boot — so the instance was never truly disabled.

Separate the concerns: keep the is_*_running guard around --stop (so we
don't try to stop an already-stopped service), but call --disable
unconditionally for plack, zebra, indexer, and es-indexer. The disable
call is idempotent on both systemd and SysV, so calling it on an already-
disabled unit is safe.

SIP was already handled correctly (using is_sip_enabled). Worker units
already used || true so were unaffected.

Bug 40901: (testing follow-up) Added enable / disable to more helpers
This patch adds more enable / disable flags to the koha daemon helper
scripts. This is essential as systemd does not enable units by default,
especially when using instantiation variables.

Larry Baerveldt 1fd9cdcdb0 Bug 13785: koha-disable should also stop SIP and zebra for instance
Currently koha-disable ONLY disables the instance in the apache conf
file. Presumably if you want to disable the instance, you also want
its processes to stop, so this patch will stop zebra, if running,
and SIP, if enabled.

Depends on Bug 13784.

To Test:
1) Have an enabled instance, with zebra and SIP running.
2) Run koha-disable INST. Note that after, both zebra and SIP
   will still be running.
3) Re-enable INST.
4) Apply patch, and then copy debian/scripts/koha-disable to
   package site, over /usr/sbin/koha-disable.
5) Run koha-disable INST. You should now see that both zebra
   and SIP have been stopped.

Liz Rea 2973e20c1f Bug 12856: koha-disable fails without disabling site
To test:
Package up a branch with this patch
install that package
create a site - sudo koha-create --create-db testdisable
enable a site - sudo koha-enable testdisable
check it's enabled - sudo koha-list --enabled
* it should show up
disable a site - sudo koha-disable testdisable
Do this for both debian squeeze/wheezy and ubuntu 12.04 and 14.04, if you can. I'd like to see a sign off from a debian (sq/wh)eez(e/y) or ubuntu 12 user, because I could only test reliably on ubuntu 14.04.
* make sure apache restarts and no errors are produced
check it's disabled - sudo koha-list --enabled
* it should not show up
check the site is still there - sudo koha-list
* it should still be there
check that the config file has the Include for disabling uncommented
* the line Include /etc/koha/apache-shared-disable.conf should not have a # in front.
Re-enable the site - sudo koha-enable testdisable
* the line Include /etc/koha/apache-shared-disable.conf should have a # in front.

And the final question - does the site work? All other functions unchanged?

Tomas Cohen Arazi 92c7653071 Bug 11404: koha-functions.sh introduced for reuse
As asked by Robin, a bash lib of functions is introduced with the common
functions to be reused. Most of the scripts are modified (reduced) to
include this file and the repeated functions cleaned.

No noticeable change in behaviour should be noticed.

As I've been todl in #debian-mentors, it is used that files for inclusion
should be installed at the apps directory (i.e. /usr/share/koha/) so this
patch makes the install script put the file in the bin/ directory.

All koha-* scripts assume the file is there already (and fail otherwise).

Tomas Cohen Arazi 7ec644da06 Bug 11404: add support for Apache 2.4's config file convention
Apache 2.4 expects the sites definition files use the sufix '.conf'

To reproduce:
- Install the 'koha-common' package on Debian 7 or Ubuntu 13.10+
(both known to include Apache 2.4).
- Create an instance (for example testlibrary) using the supplied
  commands:
 $ koha-create --create-db testlibrary
> FAIL: apache reports an error like this:
"ERROR: Site testlibrary does not exist!"

This patch adds a test on the Apache version and appends the ".conf"
sufix if needed.

To test:

1st step: koha-create gets fixed:

-- The hard way --
- Apply the patch, and build the koha-common package on top of this
  commit.
- Install the built package on an Apache 2.4 Debian-based distro (Debian 7
  or Ubuntu 13.10 will work)
- Create a test instance:
 $ koha-create --create-db testlibrary
> SUCCESS: no more apache sites related error.

-- The easy way --
- Apply the patch, and copy the koha-create into an Apache 2.4
  Debian-based distro
- Create a test instance using the koha-create script you just
  copied:
 $ ./koha-create --create-db testlibrary
> SUCCESS: no more apache sites related error.

2nd step: the rest of the touched scripts keep working as usual

koha-disable
koha-dump
koha-enable
koha-list
koha-remove
koha-restart-zebra
koha-stop-zebra
koha-start-zebra

They should all keep working. Can be tested "the easy way" too.

Note: there might be another issues regarding Apache 2.4 deployments
like the need for

 $ a2enmod access_compat

and perhaps some directory permissions tweak, which I think should be
properly documented on the install instructions.

Tomas Cohen Arazi b055f7d86c Bug 10104 - make koha-disable more robust
koha-disable now:

- checks for the existence of the instance before any actions on it.
- checks if the instance is already disabled before touching anything (warns otherwise)
- only reloads apache if needed
- handles more than one instance name.
- changed the docs to acknowledge the previous item.

To test:
- Apply the patch, build your package
- Run koha-disable on
  - Non existent instance (try names that are prefix and suffix of a valid one too please)
  - Already disabled instance name.
  - Enabled instance name.

It should work as expected and warn the user on the expected wrong cases.
